UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Last time I had an ultrasound done the doctor was pretty positive that we were having a girl.  We decided to name her Kay Bella and we painted her room a pastel green just in case the doctor was wrong.  We got a bedding set with love birds on it and a few decorate items, five things total.  I did not remove stickers or cut tags, again in case the doctor was wrong, I have also kept receipts.
The doctor was wrong!  Since he was pretty sure it was a girl, but not 100% sure we asked him to check one more time.  Today he checked one last time and OH BOY, it's a boy!  No doubt about it now, we are all 100% sure it's a boy.  The items I bought from Hobby Lobby were returned  immediately and now I'm starting over looking for boy items now.  This little dude is keeping us on our toes and it's one surprise after another!  So we will soon welcome Angelo Thomas into this world not Kay Bella!  Also our registry at babies r us is all thing in girl right now, we will be fixing that soon to all things boy.  Our amazon registry doesn't have any girly items on it.

Bee Keeping Class

Gretchen Bee Ranch

We celebrated our 1st Anniversary today by taking a bee keeping class together.  The bees were very gentle and the bee boxes smelled good!  I did buy some local honey and we look forward to going back to the bee ranch.  We do not have any desire to keep bees of our own at this time but we did get enough info that if/when we are ready to keep bees we will be on the right path.  Maybe our Kay Bella will have bees for pets instead of animals.

Grandparent Names

According to AARP some baby boomers don't care for the traditional Grandma and Grandpa, they rather have more unique names.  My mom was trying to think of  a neat one for herself since her sisters are GiGi and MiMi.  I call her G-ma for fun.  To help her out with her quest to find a good grandparent name I went straight to the source, Google!  I found an article from AARP that says Goldie Hawn's grandchild calls her Glam-ma because she couldn't say grandma.  I continue on with my search and find http://www.grandparetns.com/ a complete list of traditional, trendy and playful grandparent names.  I begin naming off names for my parents such has Pippy and Pepe (french).  My sister said Pippy reminded her of Pippy Longstockings and my mom misread Pepe, not in the french term. Jeepers and Peepers, (lol this is getting silly) which reminds me of that song Jeepers Creepers.  Vanna and Papster, thinking of Vanna White so we had to find something to go along with that and we found Papster on the list, which made people think of something else.  Then I came up with my own age appropriate names; Sonny and Cher, to which my mom responded "does that make you Chaz?"  So I went on with the list of the names my children will NEVER call my mother; Foxy, Toots and Sugar.  There weren't any odd grandfather names like that.  We are all thinking that G-ma and G-pa or just the normal/old school Grandma and Grandpa aren't so bad any more!

I had my monthly dr. visit today and all went well.  We will have our next appointment on Oct. 31 and hope to find out if we are having a boy or a girl.  Will it be a trick or a treat? 

We are preparing either way, we bought an over sized 3 feet tall Sock monkey and Robert recently found and copied my favorite childhood movie Katy the caterpillar to DVD.  I can't wait to watch it again!  We are getting more excited as time goes on.

Baby Paraphernalia

We have bought a few things for baby such as books. The grocery store had some great deals on products, when you bought a certain food item you got a book for baby/toddler for free. We now have four books including Mr. Brown can moo can you? (we bought the book and got milk for free!) and One fish two fish red fish blue fish (we bought the book and got fish sticks for free!)

Today while at Costco we saw that they had Aveno Baby wash on sale so we picked up a pack. Later on today we made our biggest purchase yet (reality is totally setting in). We bought a travel system that will work in both of our cars. We were a bit concerned about my car with the bucket seats in the back, no middle seat and little room. We bought the Graco Alano Flip It which is small enough to fit in my car and has side impact protection since I can't put it in the middle and just enough room to slide a piece of paper between my seat and the car seat. Thank God I have a third door on my car!

A look back

Almost one and a half years ago Robert asked me to marry him.  Of course I said yes and in four short months a wedding was underway.  November 20, 2010 we were married.  During our nearly one and half years from being engaged to being married for ten months we have had a great deal of adventures.  From all of mountain biking, hiking, traveling, camping and caving to planing a wedding, moving, getting married and beginning new job positions one might think we have had enough adventure for a few years.  No, not us!  We decided it was time to add a little more adventure to the mix, I'm now three months pregnant. 
We are both very excited, a little nervous but mostly excited!  We have been doing our research and reading many books.  We have learned more in this three months time than we ever have I think.  We knew that we would need the basics like a crib, changing table and so on...we had no idea the amount of choices.  We now find ourselves spending countless time researching products and pregnancy info trying to decide what all baby needs and how to decorate a nursery.  This is the beginning our the biggest adventure yet.  The adventures of becoming McCanta have begun!
